Matthew Sweet

Listening non-stop to Matthew Sweet all week. What can I say? It’s been a 90s-kinda month. Fuck yeah.

Matthew Sweet continuously writes AMAZING, HOOKY, CATCHY pop/powerpop songs. He’s got the Alex Chilton gift…. the spirit of Big Star is alive and well in the music of Matthew Sweet.

My three favorite songs (“Evangeline”, “Sick of Myself” and “I’ve Been Waiting”) of his are below…. I didn’t include “Girlfriend” because it’s overplayed. While an awesome song, I think these three really take the cake.

Fuck yes, glorious harmonies… glorious, glorious and luscious harmonies.
